About the Department

The Arabic Language Department, established alongside the college in 1409 AH, is one of the largest departments on campus. Each year, the department  is developing  and  advances its teaching methodologies across various subjects, including grammar, morphology, prosody, linguistics, language jurisprudence, literature, literary critique through history and modern contexts, and the many facets of Arabic rhetoric.

The Arabic Language Department has contributed to the graduation of many generations and has had a significant impact on meeting the community's need for teachers at the primary stage and higher levels. By constantly enhancing its teaching, academic, and administrative approaches with the latest technological tools, the department ensures it remains at the forefront of education. It actively engages in scholarly communication and shares experiences with similar departments within and beyond the region, keeping abreast of global academic advancements.

Moreover, The department has also strived to appoint a group of teaching assistants and lecturers and qualify them scientifically by sending them to study for master's and doctoral degrees; to achieve its greatest and most important goal, which is to be satisfied with national faculty members.

Vision and Mission

Vision:
The Arabic Language Department seeks to advance the Arabic language and its literature in the service of Arabic and Islamic sciences through communication with our heritage, interaction with global cultures and their literature, and adherence to the Islamic value system to reach proficiency with its global specifications.

Message:

The Arabic Language Department seeks, through its academic programs.

- Preserve and care for the language of the Holy Qur’an, and provide society with scientifically and skillfully qualified competencies that contribute to the advancement of its society, and provide high-quality academic programs in various branches of knowledge of the Arabic language and its literature, and meet its human needs for cadres capable of competing in light of the global economy.

- Preserve the Arab Islamic identity and develop the capabilities of linguistic, literary, and rhetorical appreciation, as well as develop the skills of critical thinking and creative thinking for students.

- Strive to keep pace with the development of academic and educational research paths and curricula in order to achieve global proficiency standards, and pursue cultural development projects in the Kingdom, and then meet the needs of the labor market.

- Seek to link linguistic heritage and contemporary literature with its various curricula.

- Establishing a culture of belonging and adherence to the Arab Islamic national identity among young people.

- Ensuring that students acquire creative thinking skills and mastery of educational and media technologies; in order to interact with global cultures and their literature and keep up with their scientific developments to complete the university's educational mission aimed at providing a generation of graduates who possess the ability to participate positively and effectively in the national development process.

- Investing in the capabilities of outstanding students to form scientific cadres of distinguished researchers and directing them to the priorities of severe scientific research in the Northern Borders region, within the Kingdom and the Arab world, and then globally.

- Providing researchers with scientific research capabilities and mechanisms to enable them to complete their studies for a doctorate degree in literature and helping researchers discover their research and scientific capabilities to employ them in service of our Arab Islamic heritage.

Objectives

-Preparing a generation of graduates capable of serving the Arabic language and its literature, and benefiting from the Arab-Islamic heritage.

- Developing the skills of creativity, innovation, and scientific thinking among students.

- Contributing to comprehensive development programs to serve the community by establishing a valid base for completing scientific research in the specialized qualitative fields in the Arabic Language Department.

- Enriching cultural and human studies and scientific communication with world literature.

- Enriching students' cognitive and technical abilities and forming a personality capable of discovery, creativity, and reasoning.

- Developing the skill of cognitive knowledge and increasing the areas of mastery of cognitive communication techniques.
